Kalamalka Demonstration Garden & Patchwork Community Farm

pw1 2015

Okanagan College - Vernon Campus has built a demonstration garden on two acres overlooking Kalamalka Lake. The Garden includes Patchwork Farms, (a community farm), an indigenous garden, and a new agrarian initiative that assists young farmers.

The Garden has been designed to exhibit sustainable practices and endeavors to continually improve water management through installing water conservation features (swales, permaculture features, and irrigation models).

At the Garden and Farm, there is on-going education and skill-building through practical applications, tours and workshops in the indigenous garden, and inclusive recreational opportunities for people living with physical, developmental, and mental conditions.
