Ways to give
There are many ways to impact students. From leaving a gift in your estate to establishing a fund for student awards, learn how you can transform lives.
I am a first year BSN student and a mother of a 4-month old baby. I am truly honoured to be chosen as a scholarship awardee of the Rotary Club of Kelowna Foundation.
I appreciate the help that the foundation has extended to me as I struggle to make both ends meet as I fulfill my roles and responsibilities as a mother, wife, and student. Knowing that there is a foundation that is very much supportive of students like me, it motivates me more to pursue my goal to be a Registered Nurse in three years.
Also, the Rotary Club of Kelowna Foundation inspires me to give back to the community one day. Thank you so much. -- Maria Agpaoa
“This award shows me that hard work and commitment are as important to others as they are to me. I feel motivated knowing that there is a community supporting me as I realize my dreams.” -- Terra Laurin
"I've been a career bartender for about 14 years and have had a hard time justifying making a career change. With your assistance I have been able to take a load of stress off of my new family's shoulders and really focus on my course. I would like to say that you have no idea how important this is and how much it means to me and my family, but you clearly do." -- Jason Vaness
"I want to give thanks to the Okanagan College Foundation for the free laptop. With this laptop I can get my diploma, and with the diploma it can open new doors, like job opportunities, which will benefit my whole family. It all started with a free laptop. Thank you so much.”
I am an international student at Okanagan College and I was exposed to COVID-19 during Christmas. We had to self-isolate for two weeks and stop working, and I could not qualify for government benefits because I did not have my first tax return having just finished my first year here.
Desperate of who might help us for this temporary financial crisis, I reached out to my school. Reviewing my application and story about what happened, THEY NEVER HESITATED TO HELP US for the finances we need on the period that we lost our means of living temporarily.
I am very grateful that the Lord God made this institution as my second home here in Canada. A home where they listen and responds to what you are going through especially for us international students. I will never ever forget this time in my life where the college has helped me in the worst situation I can’t even imagine. Thank you so much Okanagan College!
