Message from the Regional Dean
Welcome to the Penticton campus and vibrant South Okanagan-Similkameen region.

As the Regional Dean for South Okanagan-Similkameen, I am proud of how diverse program offerings offered at the Penticton campus meet the needs of our communities – including the thriving wine sector and emerging demand for sustainable construction management technologies.

Our campus grows every year, but still offers small classes and excellent services by faculty and staff – demonstrating daily our commitment to transforming lives and communities.

Penticton’s lifestyle

Penticton Lifestyle

Penticton is one of just two cities in the world situated between two lakes. With over 2,100 hours of sunshine, and only 15 inches of rain annually, this is the place to be for enjoying the outdoors! Penticton is an outdoor adventure mecca, known for world-class rock climbing at Skaha Bluffs and champagne powder at the local ski hills. From the Interior Salish word snpintktn, the name Penticton, is commonly translated as “a place to stay forever,” or more accurately, “a place where people live year-round.”

Agriculture is a big piece of Penticton’s livelihood. There are over 80 wineries in the Penticton metropolitan area, five craft breweries and three distilleries all within easy distance of the downtown core. This also fuels a dynamic custom manufacturing sector that is building unique products that serve the world over. Penticton is among the top 3 most entrepreneurial cities in BC with a growing tech sector. For information on living in the South Okanagan or job seeking, check out Start Here Okanagan.
