Visitors to OC campuses must park in either the “metered parking lots” near the main entrance off KLO Rd., or in the student parking pass areas with a day pass, acquired from the ticket dispensers in either Lot 11 or 17 in Kelowna, Lot P1 in Penticton and either Lot V3 or V4 in Vernon.

Temporary Parking and Guest Passes

Temporary or guest parking passes must be obtained in-person at the Facilities Management office at the Kelowna campus or at the administration offices at either Vernon or Penticton campuses.

Parking Fines

Rates are $40.00 per violation, reduced to $20.00 if paid within 5 business days. 

Student Parking

Student parking passes can be obtained at the Registration Office in the Student Services Building at the Kelowna campus or at the Administration offices in Vernon and Penticton.

Buying a parking pass does not guarantee a parking stall. Parking is "first come, first served".

Passes are sold on a monthly basis with no prorate discounts. Students are encouraged not to park in visitor parking, expired metres will result in a ticket.

Staff Parking

Staff parking passes can be obtained online through myOkanagan under Requests and Notices - Facilities Management Requests.

Parking for regular full-time staff is by staff permit only, which is to be affixed to the vehicle as directed. Staff can park only in the designated staff parking lots. A staff permit is not valid for parking in a student, visitor or pay lot.

Parking Fines

Overflow Parking

Kelowna campus

Okanagan College has arranged for 250 overflow parking spaces at Evangel Church (3261 Gordon Drive) that are available for students and staff who display a valid parking pass. There will be a parking pass available for use in this lot only. A limited number will be sold each semester. Only the northwest corner is designated for College use and is approximately a six-minute walk to campus. See the overflow parking map for details.

Salmon Arm campus

Students and visitors are able to use Recreation Centre parking lot for overflow parking.

Special Parking Spaces

Handicapped: A proper handicap-parking pass issued either by the provincial government or Okanagan College is required in addition to a regular parking pass.

Service Vehicle: A service vehicle/contractor parking pass is required.

Loading Zone: Free 15 minute maximum parking only to permit the unloading/loading of vehicles.

Motorcycles: All motorcycles and scooters are required to register at the Facilities Management Office and are governed by normal parking regulations.

Bicycles: Parking for bicycles is free and racks are located outside most buildings. Bicycle lockers are available to rent at the Kelowna, Penticton and Vernon campuses. Bicycle theft is not uncommon; make sure your bicycle is properly secured through the frame to the bicycle rack with a cable or chain. They may not be left in unapproved areas or taken into buildings.

Note: Bicycles secured in areas other than bicycle racks are subject to removal without warning at the owner’s risk and expense.

Electric Car Charging and Parking

We have electric car charging stations available on all 4 main campuses.

See the parking map for each campus actual locations, marked as "EV Parking".

Charging Stations are available to all students, staff and public. While you don’t pay for the electricity directly, you must still follow all the posted parking regulations including metered parking fees.

In order to activate the charging feature, you will have to swipe an access card. Cards can be ordered directly from AddEnergie

Alternatively, you can also borrow a swipe card from the Contacts below:

  • KLO Campus – Facilities Office or Security Kiosk
  • Vernon Campus – Administration Office or Security Desk
  • Penticton – Administration Office
  • Salmon Arm – Administration Office
    • Salmon Arm requires you to pay for your parking right at the charging station – just follow the directions right on the machine.


Three of the College’s campuses are also serviced by city transit with the following bus routes:

  • Kelowna: #1 Lakeshore, #4 Pandosy/UBCO Express, #8 University, #12 McCulloch
  • Penticton: #2 Westside/Penticton, #4 Westside/Duncan East, #15 Night Route
  • Vernon: #6 College, #90 North Okanagan Connector
  • Salmon Arm: #2 College Hillcrest
  • Revelstoke Centre: Columbia Park, Big Eddy and Commuter

There are a limited number of carpool parking stalls at the Kelowna and Penticton campuses. These stalls are open to both staff and students. To park in these stalls two or more parking passes must be fully visible on the dash and rear-view mirror of the vehicle. Failure to display these passes will result in a violation being written.
