OC grad ceremony reaches international audience
Okanagan College hosted three virtual graduation ceremonies on Saturday, June 5, conferring credentials and applauding the achievements and dedication of more than 1,500 students.
Students from the Arts and Foundational programs graduated at 10 a.m., Business students graduated at noon and students from Science, Technologies, Health and Social Development programs graduated at 2 p.m.
A virtual guestbook garnered more than 540 messages to graduates. Comments ranged from local supporters to friends and family from across Canada and internationally including from Zimbabwe, India, the Philippines, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
The virtual convocation videos have been viewed over 900 times and besides Canada, the most number of people watching were from India and the Philippines.
Upcoming virtual ceremonies
- Trades Commencement is on June 17 at 6 p.m.
- Continuing Studies Commencement is on June 22 at 6 p.m.
- Summer Convocation is on July 10
- Arts and Foundational program is at 10 a.m.
- Business program is at 12 p.m.
- Science, Technology, Health and Social Development program is at 2 p.m.
Employees are encouraged to leave messages in the grad guestbook to support the achievements of OC graduates. All ceremonies can be viewed online and messages can be left at okanagan.bc.ca/virtualconvocation.
