Robert Ryan CPA, CGA, BA
Robert's most obvious trait as an educator is a deep curiosity about all things business. He loves to know all I can about all industries and everything that makes each of them tick. As an accountant and an educator, it leads him to a desire to “Teach Curiosity” in each class. The curiosity muscle in a mind is the one that allows a person to propel themselves forward into new learning beyond pure rote and memory exercise. "How can I, as a teacher, help the learner to exercise this muscle?"

Research and Community Involvement:
It is a distinct pleasure that Robert has had since 2015 to work with the Okanagan Chapter of CPA BC to deliver each year a four hour course in Ethics for CPA’s. This is delivered in Kelowna, Penticton and Vernon each year allowing Okanagan area CPAs to earn Professional Development credits in Ethics required every three years close to home. The content is updated each year to keep it relevant and current as well as a goal of making it about the application of ethical principles going beyond theory. This also has been meaningful in raising funds for the CPA Okanagan Education Fund. In both 2018 and 2019 Robert led a student team in the Royal Roads Design Thinking Challenge team representing Okanagan School of Business. Robert also attended the 2017 CPA BC Pacific Summit in which he presented “Ethics and Accountancy."
