(the “Contest”)

1. Contest Period

1.1 The contest period begins at 12:01 a.m. Kelowna time on Oct. 16, 2020 and closes at 9 a.m. Kelowna time on May 14, 2021 (“Contest Period”).

2. How to Enter

2.1 Entry.  Individuals who attend a virtual or in-person recruitment event at one of the Okanagan College’s campuses or interact with Okanagan College recruitment staff, virtually or in-person, at a recruitment event off-campus or at a Canadian secondary school will be eligible to enter the Contest online.
2.2 No purchase necessary. There is one way to enter the Contest:
(a) Complete and submit an online entry form.
Entries must be received before the end of the Contest Period. All entries become the property of Okanagan College. Okanagan College is not responsible for lost, late, misdirected, illegible or incomplete entries. Okanagan College is not responsible for any change of email address, mailing address, and/or telephone number of entrants.
2.3 Eligibility. The Contest is open to residents of Canada, excluding Quebec, who are Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents of Canada. Employees of Okanagan College are not eligible to enter the Contest.

2.4 Individuals may only submit one (1) online entry under section 2.2(a) of these Official Contest Rules.

3. Contest Draw

3.1 The winner will be selected from all entries received in a random draw conducted by Okanagan College representatives by 12 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time on May 21, 2021 in Kelowna, BC. The first entry drawn for which the entrant satisfies the eligibility criteria will be eligible to win the prize. There is one (1) prize to be won from among all the eligible entrants received during the Contest Period. Odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries.  There will be no regional distribution of prizes.

4. Prizes

4.1 The prize for the Contest consists of a tuition credit equal to the sum of tuition fees for the fall semester and winter semester of a full-time or part-time academic program leading to conferment of a Bachelor degree, associate degree, diploma, or certificate by Okanagan College (collectively, an “Academic Program”), or completion of a pre-apprenticeship or apprenticeship program offered by Okanagan College (collectively, an “Apprenticeship Program”).
4.2 The prize may be redeemed at the discretion of the winner, who shall use the prize no later than August 30, 2024. To redeem the prize, the winner must have been accepted, confirmed Okanagan College’s offer of admission, and paid any applicable tuition deposits for the full-time or part-time Academic Program or Apprenticeship Program of the winner’s choice.  If the winner does not use the prize prior to August 30, 2024, then the winner shall forfeit the prize.
4.3 The prize must be used in consecutive fall and winter semesters in a single academic year. If the winner does not register for courses in the winter semester, then the winner shall forfeit the portion of the prize that was to be applied to winter semester tuition fees.
4.4 The prize must be used in respect of tuition fees applicable to the course requirements of a single Academic or Apprenticeship Program. If the winner wishes to transfer from one Academic Program or Apprenticeship Program to another in the winter semester, then the winner shall forfeit the portion of the prize that was to be applied to winter semester tuition fees.
4.5 The total value of the prize is not to exceed five thousand Canadian dollars ($5,000.00). Therefore, the approximate retail value of the prize equals a maximum of $5,000.00. If prize dollars exceed fall and winter semester tuition dollars, then the excess will be forfeited.
4.6 Any additional costs (including compulsory non-tuition related fees, parking or locker fees, recreational fees or fees associated with extended health benefits) and any applicable taxes associated with the prize and incurred by the winner are the sole responsibility of the winner and not the responsibility of Okanagan College.
4.7 The prize is non-transferable and must be accepted as awarded. No cash alternative or substitution of the prize is permitted except by Okanagan College at its sole discretion. Okanagan College reserves the right to substitute prize with other prizes of equal or greater value if the prize cannot be awarded as described for any reason.
4.8 In order to win, the selected entrant must first correctly answer a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question to be administered by email or telephone. Winners will be notified by telephone or email and will be required to sign a declaration of eligibility and liability/publicity release (collectively, the “Contest Documents”) within 10 business days of notification. Winners must also supply at least one piece of valid government-issued photo identification. If the selected entrant is under the age of majority, their parent/legal guardian will also be required to sign the Contest Documents.  No response from email or phone notification after three attempts, return of email notification as undeliverable after three attempts, or failure to return the Contest Documents within the time specified by Okanagan College shall be determined as an unclaimed prize and will result in forfeit of the prize by the selected entrant. An alternate winner will be selected by Okanagan College.
