Flags lowered at OC campuses in memory of British Columbian lives lost to COVID-19

On March 8, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced that the Government of Canada is designating Thursday, March 11 as a National Day of Observance to commemorate the people who have lost their lives to COVID-19 and the significant impacts Canadians have experienced due to the pandemic. The Canadian flag at the Parliament Buildings in Victoria and on all British Columbia government buildings and establishments, including public post-secondary institutions, will be flown at half-mast on Thursday to acknowledge the one-year anniversary of the World Health Organization declaring COVID-19 a pandemic and in memory of all the British Columbians whose lives have been lost due to COVID-19.
