The development of Okanagan College’s Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy – a guiding document to promote and support the health and wellness of OC students and employees – has arrived at an exciting stage of the process.

Over the past few months, 5 subcommittees (comprised of Okanagan College students and employees) each completed a draft of recommended actions related to a specific area of mental health and wellbeing. These recommendations were informed by best practices literature as well as initial feedback from the OC community.

Students and employees are invited to attend a campus townhall to hear more about the subcommittee recommendations and provide input to inform our overall Strategy document. Campus townhalls are scheduled for

  • Kelowna: Monday, September 27 at 11 a.m. in A125
  • Penticton: Tuesday, September 28 at 11 a.m.  in PC113
  • Salmon Arm: Wednesday, September 29 at 10 a.m. in the Student Lounge
  • Vernon: Wednesday, September 29 at 1 p.m. in E103

These campus townhalls will be hosted by Strategy Co-Leads Angela Checkley (Manager, Student Services) and Glendon Wiebe (Chair, Counselling Services).
