Motor vehicle trades students use digital instrumentation to diagnose an issue with the vehicle

Drive the direction of your career. Heavy Mechanical, Automotive Service Technician, and Recreation Vehicle Service Technician programs are all offered in state-of-the-art shops at Okanagan College's Kelowna campus. 

New Battery Electric Vehicle Technology and Service program

Okanagan College will serve as a regional hub for the Southern Interior for hybrid and EV training. The new Battery Electric Vehicle Technology and Service program is designed for advanced, Red Seal endorsed technicians wanting to elevate their skills and knowledge of EV vehicles through this 36-hour course. Course delivery will be a combination of 6 hours of online learning and 30 hours of on-campus instruction.

The Heavy Mechanical shop offers 5 large industry style shops with 1,858-square-metres of outdoor training space - covered by a canopy of photovoltaic solar panels that help power the Kelowna Trades Complex.

New diploma program

Automotive Service Technology Diploma program teaches apprenticeship training and industry-required skills in technical writing, business practices, office skills and project management. 

Father-daughter duo reflects on changing RV industry

“The pandemic has had some interesting impacts in the RV world and even with dealerships paying higher wages and offering more competitive employment benefits, they still can’t meet the demand the entire nation is feeling right now for RV technicians,” explains RV Service instructor Victor Flint.
