Q: What is your name/preferred name?
A: Tara Laveay
Q: What are your pronouns?
Q: What program and year of study are you in at Okanagan College?
A: First year, Therapist Assistant Diploma
Q: Which campus do you primarily study at?
Q: What drew you to that program?
A: Everything! This is a program that is built for me. The fact that I get to participate in helping a person to make their daily living better through things such as movement and empowerment is hugely motivating. Being able to work with some very cool people and equipment has some perks too!
Q: Why did you choose to study at OC?
A: Originally, Okanagan College was my first choice because it was close to home. It didn't take me long to realize that it was becoming so much more. From day one, whether it was course counsellors, registars office, teachers, it didn't matter who, everyone here genuinely wants you to succeed. The program being so detailed was just a bonus.
Q: What are you looking forward to during your time OC?
A: Growth. Consistently being reminded that when I thought I wasn't smart enough, what I thought seemed impossible or too long of a road, is totally possible and totally worth it.
Q: Where is home for you?
Q: What’s the best advice you’ve received?
A: The best advice I have ever received...be kind
Q: Where are you the happiest?
A: In the Mountains
