What was your best memory during your time at OC?

Meeting different classmates from different cultures and needing to work hard to pass all my exams.

Who was your biggest influence during your time at OC?

My homestay parents, and the professors I met at OC. They were my first impression of Canadians and they were very inspiring and patient.

Tell us about your current position.

Currently, I’m running an Immigration Consultant firm in Kelowna, called Yiwii Immigration and Education Services (B.C.) Inc. Helping more international students and foreign workers to obtain the opportunity to study or work in Canada.

What do you think has been the biggest turning point for your career path?

After I graduated from OC, I worked at HSBC and Valley First Credit Union. Unfortunately, back then, I was unable to use these job titles to apply for the permanent residency application. So I decided to work in an Immigration consultant firm as an Administrative Officer so that I was able to apply.

What advice would you pass on to current/future students?

What works for others may not suit you, just give yourself a little bit of time to find out what is best for you. Always be willing to try something new, and don’t be afraid of failure.

What are you most passionate about in your career?

I get to help new students and new comers to Canada and avoid detours. Sometimes my work can be stressful, but I like to challenge myself, and everyone’s case is unique.

When you’re not working, what are you doing?

Reading, watching movies, travelling

If you could have coffee with anyone who would it be and why?

I would like to meet up with my past classmates from OC. They may have gone back to their home countries, or have moved to different cities, or maybe they’ve had three kids already. But I’d love to talk to them, update each other on our lives. I’m sure there are lots of them that I may never see again so it would be nice to catch up.

If you could go back and tell yourself one thing, would you and what would you say?

Be yourself, trust yourself and never let other people or things determine your worth.
