'I found that the college has an excellent program for international students who need to learn or improve their English'

What's your name?

Katia Maria Aguila de Marroquin. It's Latin, so it's very long! If you prefer, I go just by Katia Aguila.

What is your home town?

Usulután, El Salvador.

How did you end up at Okanagan College?

In the process of validating my doctorate in dental surgery here in Canada, I needed to first improve my English skills. My husband told me about the Okanagan College where I found that the college has an excellent program for international students who need to learn or improve their English for academic purposes.

What's the best OC experience you've had so far?

I think that meeting a lot of people who have become my friends here in Kelowna has been my best experience in the college, and I have yet to have a bad experience here.

Advice for future OC students?

Okanagan College is an excellent place where they can find any course of their preference, an excellent modern campus, and it's located in a beautiful city.

What will you be doing in ten years?

I will be working as a dentist in Kelowna.

Where are you the happiest?

At the beach with my family and friends.

What matters most to you right now?

To pass the AFK exam of the equivalency program.

If you ran the world?

Make the world a more equitable place so everyone can have the same opportunities to succeed and avoid the waves of migration that we’ve seen in recent years.
