In Memory of Pat Baird

Patricia Baird

Colleagues,

Flags have been lowered at Okanagan College’s Vernon campus in memory of a long-time former Okanagan College chemistry professor, Pat Baird, who recently passed away.

Pat taught for more than 30 years at Okanagan College. “She was a vibrant part of the College community at the Vernon Campus,” recalls OC President Jim Hamilton who worked on the campus with her in his role as a professor and as a Principal on the campus. “She was respected, liked by students and added significantly to a robust culture on the campus.”

She passed away August 7 at 68 years old, and is survived by her husband Gary, three children and four grandsons.  She was renowned for her love of various sports, including baseball, water skiing, snow skiing and snowboarding, as well as hiking and biking.
Donations may be made in memory of Pat to the KGH Foundation Hospice House, hospicehousekelowna.com, or the BC Cancer Foundation, bccancer.bc.ca

The family is inviting all who would like to pay their respects to join them by livestream on Wednesday, August 12, at 1 p.m.
