Providing support and connection for online learners

Providing learner support and connection can be achieved in online learning, whether in synchronous or asynchronous delivery.

One approach that is gaining attention is the practice of mindfulness, which invites learners to check in with their physical selves through brief meditations.

These short practices serve to ground and calm learners, enhancing their ability to take in new learning. There are a multitude of brief videos such as this that can be embedded into your Moodle courses.

OC employees looking to improve their skills and knowledge about teaching, learning, programming and applied research are encouraged to visit OC's Learning & Applied Research webpage.
