For the second year in a row, a team of students from W.L. Seaton Secondary won the team competition at the Okanagan University College Spaghetti Bridge Contest. An estimated 250 students participated in the event, which was held at OUC's North Kelowna Campus. Teams came from as far as Osoyoos and Naskusp. Another important element of the event was the participation of elementary schools from throughout the region, who showcased bridges they had built.

Student Competition Results

Students entered pre-built bridges which could support a two-kilogram mass for five minutes.

3. Third Place: Sam Bassett, Vernon Secondary School, Vernon, B.C., Canada

Team Building Competition Results

In the team building competition, students were given glue guns, 1.8 kilograms of spaghetti and about two-and-a-half hours to piece together a structure according to specifications they are given 10 minutes before the event starts. This year, students were required to construct roof trusses that would support a snow load equivalent to 2 kilograms.
