Three Okanagan College students in the Water Engineering Technology (WET) Diploma program were recently awarded financial prizes in recognition of their commitment to their field and good grades. Okanagan College hosted three virtual graduation ceremonies on Saturday, June 5, conferring credentials and applauding the achievements and dedication of more than 1,500 students.  Students from the Arts and Foundational programs graduated at 10 a.m., Business students graduated at noon and students from Science, Technologies, Health and Social Development programs graduated at 2 p.m. A virtual guestbook garnered more than 540 messages to graduates. Support flows in for two OC Water Engineering Technology students

The Water Supply Association of B.C. turned on the taps to support for two Okanagan College Water Engineering Technology (WET) students in April.  Kyra Marsden and Kyle Giesbrecht are the recipients of $1,000 scholarships from the Association. In her award application, Marsden noted that currently in B.C., only 8% of the operators in the water and wastewater fields are women. She is aiming to change that by landing a career in water treatment. With Halloween quickly approaching, three Okanagan College Mechanical Engineering students are manufacturing a safe way for people to still partake in trick-or-treating. Enter Trick-or-Treat Bowls. An innovative solution, the tools are 3D printed with a small tray-like bowl and attach to any standard broom handle.
