Cannabis Industry Recognition

Join our no-cost cannabis competencies assessment project now!

Okanagan College has partnered with Vancouver Community College to offer several micro-credentials within the cannabis industry.  These micro-credentials are not earned by taking courses, but through the demonstration of prior learning within the cannabis industry.

Show employers you have job-ready cannabis industry skills and have your industry knowledge recognized in:

  • Assembly and Packaging
  • Sanitation and GPP GMP
  • Quality, Regulations and Legislation
  • Bud Tending and Sales
  • Growing, Nutrients and Equipment
  • Harvest, Curing and Trimming

Now - June 30 - Unfortunately, we have reached our maximum capacity for this project but we are happy to put you on a waiting list for the next offering (course fee and date TBD).

Participants will submit a portfolio in one or more of the above areas outlining their industry knowledge, skills, and experience. Your portfolio will be assessed by an industry professional. Once participants submit their portfolio, they will be contacted by the assessor for an online interview. Successful participants will be granted a micro-credential from Okanagan College in the area(s) they demonstrate the required competencies. An electronic badge will be assigned which can be digitally attached to your online resume, Linkedin, and other web platforms.

To determine suitability, please refer to the Candidates’ Self-Assessment for each of the following industry areas:

If you believe you can demonstrate the competencies in any of the above areas, please contact to request a portfolio template and start the assessment process.
