Hospitality Professional Program

The Hospitality Professional Program provides a comprehensive training package to prepare participants for a variety of careers in tourism or hospitality.

Jobs in this diverse sector include roles in:

  • museums
  • resorts
  • hotels
  • family and aquatic centres
  • a variety of other positions

Participants will receive training in the following areas:

  • computer software
  • marketing and sales
  • soft skills
  • industry certifications
  • human resources
  • management
  • project management
  • accounting

Students take part in 17 weeks of theory and virtual classroom training, followed by 10 weeks of work experience and three weeks of follow-up support to transition to employment. This program is free for eligible participants.

Eligibility 

Participants eligible to receive training must:

  • Meet the definition of an “EI client," BCEA PWD Client, or a BCEA Non-PWD Client
  • Be eligible for WorkBC Case Management and be referred by a WorkBC Case Manager

Dates

  • Application deadline: March 21, 2022
  • Online course dates: March 28 - July 22, 2022
  • Work Experience and Follow Up Support: July 25 - Oct 7, 2022
