Automotive Service Technology Diploma

Earn business management skills in this NEW Automotive Service Technology Diploma program! 

This two-year diploma program is designed for students interested in working in the automotive industry as an Automotive Service Technician (AST), or seeking a management role, in service, sales, or operations. The program provides students with the first year of apprenticeship training followed by second-year courses in advanced level automotive service and repair with a focus on industry required skills in technical writing, business practices, office skills and project management.

Students learn from instructors with extensive industry experience who promote student success. Students hone their skills using latest equipment and technologies.

Upon successful completion of the technical training, students will be eligible to write the provincial Industry Training Authority standardized examinations for AST Level 1 and receive 450 hours of practical work-based hours towards the AST Level 1 certification.

Career Paths:  As an Automotive Service Technician with a diploma credential, you can work for a motor vehicle manufacturing company, a motor vehicle dealer, or anywhere where motor vehicles are serviced, like an automotive specialty shop or a service station. This versatile diploma gives you the option to work in an apprentice position and/or management position within industry.
