Plumbing and Piping Trades
One program with 4 trades career path options?
Our Plumbing and Piping Trades program combines the curriculum for Plumbing, Domestic/Commercial "B" Gasfitting, Pipefitting/Steamfitting and Sprinkler System Installer. Each trade however similar they have different applications.
1. Plumbers install, repair and maintain PVC, copper or galvanized steel pipes, fixtures and other plumbing equipment that typically carries water.
2. Pipefitters/Steamfitters work with copper, steel, cast iron, concrete or plastic pipes that could carry water, steam, waste, chemicals or natural gas.
3. Gasfitters install, repair and maintain propane and natural gas regulated products found in homes and commercial buildings.
4. Sprinkler System Installers are analyzers and assure that buildings of all shapes and sizes have the proper systems in place to stop a fire from growing and spreading by designing, assembling and installing water, foam, carbon dioxide and dry chemical sprinkler systems.

Program Details: 25 weeks (750 hour)

Outcomes: Upon successful completion students will receive Level 1 technical training credit towards an apprenticeship in one of the following trades they wish to pursue - Plumber, Pipefitter/Steamfitter, Gasfitter or Sprinkler System Installer.
Employment Opportunities: Vary depending on which Trade you choose to follow - self-employed, repair shops, construction companies, manufacturing facilities, municipalities, utility Industries and Energy Sectors. |
