Articulation Meeting 2019
Details about the Physics & Astronomy articulation meeting:
Accommodation: We recommend the Coast Capri Hotel located at 1171 Harvey Ave, Kelowna. The gov’t rate for accommodation is approximately $130 per night. Rooms are filling up fast, so whether you book with the Coast Capri or elsewhere, we suggest doing so ASAP! There are other options closer to Okanagan College as well – please contact Robert Stutz (Email Robert) if you have any questions or need suggestions.

Parking: For those of you arriving with a vehicle, Okanagan College will have free parking for the meeting. You do not require a parking pass as long as you are parked in STAFF parking. Here is a campus map showing the room location (S103B) in the S building and recommended parking lots:
Bus: if you are travelling from UBCO by bus, Route 8 is what you want.

Route 8: University/OK College – Takes about 40 minutes (~15 to drive)
Lunch: OC will provide coffee, snacks, and lunch for the day of the event. If you have any allergies or dietary restrictions, please contact Ryan Ransom (Email Ryan).
Friday Dinner: There are a number of good restaurants a short 10-15 minute walk away on Pandosy St. We have not organized a formal dinner for Friday night at this time.
Friday talk: Fast Radio Bursts and CHIME. We have organized a special lecture on Friday, May 3rd, 2019, 7:30pm Okanagan College – Kelowna in Room H115. Dr. Paul Scholz from the Dominion Radio Astrophysical Observatory (DRAO) will be presenting.
Saturday tour: On May 4 there will be a tour of the Dominion Radio Astrophysical Observatory (DRAO) starting about 2:30 pm. Ryan Ransom from Okanagan College and colleagues will be the guides, and there will be a couple of mini-presentations from staff astronomers and engineers. You will need to provide your own transportation to the DRAO, which is approximately 1h 20m South of Okanagan College’s Kelowna campus.
