Horticulture and Landscaping course for people with special needs - Starts May 27
This training is a four-week (70 hours) course designed to prepare students with special needs to enter the workforce in the horticultural/landscape sector. Students will be introduced to a range of skills, attitudes and abilities relating to the field including safety training, equipment use and maintenance practices, listening strategies, team work skills, basic botany, general landscaping techniques and practices such as knowledge and training in planting and maintaining vegetable and flower beds, pruning techniques, lawn repairs and laying sod. Students will develop skills through a mixture of theory, practice, guest speakers and field trips.
