The Scotiabank Centre for Non-Profit Excellence student researchers created training resources to assist non-profit organizations build capacity and skill development in areas determined during year 1 through a gap analysis (see “Research” tab for the full report). Thank you to all the individuals and organizations who piloted the training (online and face to face) and provided valuable feedback which we incorporated into the final version offered through this site.
Some of the topic areas are set up as set up as online training courses, such as impact reporting, with a variety of activities (for example, self-assessments, quizzes, case studies). Others are more of are source package (for example, Collaboration & Collective Impact) or a facilitation package (for example, Strategic Plan Implementation) with materials to support the delivery of a course. A list of all the topic areas are posted below.
You can participate in the training resources as often as you would like, and enter and exit each topic area at the module or points you need so these materials are flexible and geared to individual self-paced learning. There is no evaluation or review of your knowledge by an outside instructor; it is informational and skill-based for your own growth and development. We encourage you to share these resources with others at your organization and through your networks!
