The garden will feature indigenous plants that are drought resistant and will survive with little watering and tending. Ultimately, the goal is that the garden will be sustainable with little to no irrigation once established and thriving.

The na’ʔk’ʷulamən (na - kool - a- may ) garden operation and maintenance is the responsibility of the Central Okanagan Regional Dean’s Office and Facilities and Business Services Department at Okanagan College. Assisting with the care and maintenance of the garden is a community Task Force of volunteers. These Task Force Members are:

  • Beryl Amaron
  • Jordon Coble
  • Rick Gee
  • Anthony Isaac
  • Graham Kershaw
  • Angie March
  • Heather Schneider
  • Rob St. Onge
  • Elana Wester

In addition there are many student, staff and community volunteers that help provide seasonal maintenance of the garden each year. Thank-you to all of the above individuals for helping ensure that the na’ʔk’ʷulamən garden remains vibrant, relevant and sustainable.
