Meet Ryan
Viewbook RyanI got my start in the wine industry about seven years ago when I volunteered to pick grapes at Tantalus Vineyards. I loved it so much that I wanted to try all the different roles at Tantalus and now I think I’ve worn just about every hat you can think of – and I’ve gained a really great understanding of what it takes to be a part of a successful winery.

I knew I wanted to grow my career in this industry so I enrolled in the three wine certificate programs Continuing Studies offered, while I was still working full-time. I got equipped for my career and in the process I also uncovered a ton of really cool family history that I never knew about – my grandma used to make her own wine in the 1940s and my paternal grandpa distilled moonshine and that’s just the start of it. It turns out wine and craft alcohols run in my blood.

When I made all of these connections, I couldn’t help but feel like I was meant to be here. I’ve been working very hard for many years; now that I own a vineyard, I’m literally planting vines for my future dream of running a small boutique winery.
