Okanagan College’s Penticton campus is home to a new 64-space child care centre.

Operated by the Penticton and District Community Resources Society (PDCRS), the centre will offer infant and toddler care, ages 3-5 daycare, preschool and after school care - provided by experienced, certified and well-trained staff.

The centre provides a new child care option for families in Penticton (it is open to the general public, in addition to children of Okanagan College students and employees). It features extended hours of operation to accommodate early and evening classes and shift workers in the community.

The centre is constructed using Passive House principles and is designed to meet LEED Platinum standards to match the College's high standard of sustainability achieved through the Jim Pattison Centre of Excellence. The centre will also boast a 4,000 square foot outdoor play space to encourage children to engage in supervised early learning and play in the outdoors.
