Shuswap Powerhouse Initiative

Power to transform lives and Shuswap communities

When a community comes together with a common goal, it sends a signal to everyone that there is real power in numbers.

This is what the Shuswap Powerhouse Initiative is all about. It’s a concerted effort to establish a committed group of people who are willing to build a flourishing financial foundation that the local Okanagan College community can depend on for decades to come.

This kind of foundation creates confidence, and few things ensure student success more than knowing they are personally, academically, and financially supported. These three cornerstones work for everyone by securing a sustainable and well-trained labour force.

Create real change

Okanagan College’s Salmon Arm campus is a vital part of this community, and the opportunity to make an impact is never greater than it is today.

Through the Shuswap Powerhouse Initiative your support will inspire others to join in creating a healthier, stronger local campus.

Our goal is to raise $500,000 by 2022 for a wide variety of projects and innovative programs that will directly improve the student experience at the Salmon Arm campus, such as:
  • Student scholarships and bursaries
  • Expanded and enhanced programs
  • Capital building projects (new buildings, lecture theatres, greenhouses, artists' studios)
Easy does it

The Okanagan College Foundation is offering a variety of means to get this initiative underway.

The Shuswap Powerhouse Initiative will be established with donor commitments at a  suggested minimum $5,000, with contributions that can be made over five years.
