50/50 Staff Lottery
The 50/50 Staff Lottery has been a popular program since its inception in 1992. Revamped in the Fall of 2005, the program continues to be supported by over 200 Okanagan College employees.
The Staff Lottery is a bi-weekly draw where an employee has an opportunity to win 50% of the prize total, approximately $515. The other $515 goes towards emergency bursaries for students.
In 2005, based on the feedback provided by the Okanagan College community and with the help of a volunteer committee, we developed the new lottery format and a new beneficiary fund - the Okanagan College Family Award. This award is funded via matching funds from Okanagan College on a dollar-for-dollar basis.
Last year, more than $13,000 was awarded to students needing immediate financial assistance. The Okanagan College Foundation 50/50 Staff Lottery is open to all employees (age 19+) of Okanagan College, including auxiliaries and students. The average prize in 2017-2018 was $515.
