Message from the Dean
Donna Lomas, Regional Dean for the South Okanagan-Similkameen
Welcome to the South Okanagan-Similkameen region.
The South Okanagan is renowned for producing world class wines, holding spectacular sporting events such as the Ironman competition, and terrific family events including the annual Peach Festival. The region offers an amazing life style with a variety of options for everyone. Activities include: biking on the old Kettle Valley Railway right of way, golfing on one of the many award winning courses, visiting a local art gallery or sampling wine at a vineyard wine shop. The region includes the areas bounded by Princeton to the west, Osoyoos to the south and Summerland to the north.
Okanagan College’s Penticton Campus offers students a number of educational opportunities including first and second year university transfer Arts and Science courses, Business Administration programs, adult upgrading, literacy programs, Licensed Practical Nursing, some trades programs and a number of Continuing Studies certificate programs including the Viticulture program and Wine Sales and Wine Tasting courses. The small classes, excellent faculty, friendly staff and the many student services, including course/program advising, disability services, counseling, First Nations services, a Student Success Center and a full service library, offers students support in achieving their educational goals.
The College’s education centers in Oliver and Summerland offer students opportunities to take classes closer to home. Continuing Studies courses and certificate programs provide students of all ages with excellent learning opportunities.
