At Okanagan College, we’re committed to strengthening our role as a leader in sustainability. That’s why we’re excited to announce a new role dedicated to supporting sustainability initiatives, thanks to a one-year grant funded by @FortisBC. 

Vaibhav Patel joins our Facilities team with a focus on finding innovative ways to help reduce the College’s energy consumption and carbon emissions. As OC’s Energy Analyst, Vaibhav will monitor energy consumption to help the Operations team identify and implement additional opportunities to further reduce our electricity and gas usage.  

 At OC, we've made strides in reducing both energy use and carbon emissions by more than 25 per cent since 2009, and there is always more to be done.  

As part of the College’s carbon reporting team, Vaibhav's work also supports our effort to reduce emissions from our vehicle fleet, which is now 39 per cent Electric or Hybrid.
