Building your future through skills.
Skills/Compétences Canada (S/CC) is a national, not-for-profit organization that works with employers, educators, labour groups and governments to promote skilled trades and technology careers among Canadian youth. The unique position among private and public sector partners enables Skills Canada to work toward securing Canada’s future skilled labour needs while helping our youth to discover rewarding careers. |

Okanagan College has proudly coordinated and hosted the Central Okanagan Regional Skills Competitions annually since 1996. Our goal, along with Skills Canada BC, is to encourage students to explore areas of interest in the trades and technology fields. By providing students opportunities to participate locally in various events, we believe that not only will it increase their awareness but also spark their interest in pursuing a career in the trades and Technology sectors.
Students that place gold in their contest areas advance to Provincials, then to the National level and finally to the International level. These Skills Canada competitions are held every year and the International Skills competition is every two years.
