Description
In this 4-year apprenticeship, the apprentice works in industry and attends school for 6-8 weeks each year. (level 1 & 2 are 6 weeks and level 3 & 4 are 8 weeks). These four blocks of technical training and 5 years of on the job training will progress the apprentice through the full spectrum of learning required to become a Qualified Journeyperson.

Program Fees:
Tuition fees are currently assessed at $676.20. Income support for apprentices attending technical training courses is provided by Human Resources Development Canada (HRDC) through regular employment insurance eligibility. Financial Aid
Employment Opportunities
The apprentice will write the Interprovincial Red Seal examination on the last day of the level 4 technical training class. Upon successfull completion the apprentice will receive their Trade Certification with the Interprovincial Endorsement (red seal).
All of the trades offered at Okanagan College lead to Journeyperson status under the Interprovincial standards (Red Seal) endorsement program. Red Seal certified workers can work anywhere in Canada where their trade is designated. Labour mobility is essential for the Canadian workforce. For skilled tradespeople, the Red Seal is the recognized passport to mobility in trades across Canada.
