Human Kinetics Diploma
Program Description
This two-year diploma program is based on a solid foundation of study in the art and science of human movement. Students learn principles, theories and practices in the areas of health and wellness, sport sociology, sport psychology, motor learning, biomechanics, exercise physiology, motor development, and human anatomy and physiology. Many graduates go on to complete a degree in human kinetics, physical education or kinesiology. Some apply for professional training in education, medicine, chiropractics, rehabilitation, nursing, massage therapy, or orthotics and prosthetics.
Career Opportunities: Graduates will fulfill a growing need in society for practitioners skilled at supporting healthy lifestyles. Employment opportunities will be found in a variety of settings including education, health, business, sport and recreation.
Sample Job Titles: Diploma Graduate jobs may include Certified Personal Fitness Trainer, Group Fitness Leader, Fitness Program Coordinator, Recreation Programmer or Technician, Recreational Sport Coach, Sport Event Coordinator, or work in Sporting Goods Sales and Service or Fitness Equipment Sales and Service.
