Patricia Schellenberg

I received a Bachelor of Science (biochemistry) from the University of Victoria after completing my first two years of post secondary education at Okanagan University College. During my university education, I held a variety of research jobs from safety testing over-the-counter medicines to sequencing the human gene responsible for Gaucher disease. After completing my degree I worked for two years as a research assistant at UVIC but I was most happy when I had the opportunity to teach labs. I returned to UVIC to obtain a teaching certificate so that I could make teaching my profession.

I began teaching at Okanagan College in the Winter of 2000 after three years of teaching secondary school math and sciences. I like to employ a variety of methods of instruction in the classroom including interactive lectures, discovery, demonstrations, laboratory investigations, group work, and tutorials with a strong emphasis on problem solving.
