How soon do graduates find employment?
We commonly state that if you are willing to move and are not picky about your starting position then there is a 90% chance of finding employment within 3 months of graduation. If you are unable to move or prefer work only in one sector then naturally the chances are reduced.

Can I transfer credit from my previous education?
Maybe! Transfer credit is considered on a case by case basis. Because specific skills are taught within the program it can be difficult to declare equivalency

I understand there are two options within the program—which has better career outcomes?
It is difficult to quantify a difference in employability between graduates from one option or another. A more significant factor is the experience gained during the Co-op terms.

Do you offer a Distance Education version of the program?
Because we use a hands on training style we don't support a Distance Education for the WET program itself.

Does the college track graduates of this program? If so, what are some of the jobs they are doing?
Even though we don't formally track our graduates. Our graduates work in a variety of water related industries which vary based on the economic and demographic factors. The primary employers for our graduates are municipal government and the most common jobs are in the water and wastewater treatment field.  However, many graduates obtain jobs with other employers including provincial and federal governments and consulting engineering firms. 

Can I apply anytime?
Registration for each September starts in the preceeding November.

I completed the program entrance requirements some time ago. Should I upgrade them before I come in?
If you have been out of school for an extended duration or feel that you might not have capitalized on your time in high school, we would recommend that students take upgrading courses in both Math and Chemistry.  These are the areas that students struggle with the most.

What can I expect to earn while on my Co-op placement?
Starting wages for the Co-op program this past year ranged from $13.50 to $20 per hour.
