MATH 135
Mathematics I
  Mathematics I includes selected topics from basic algebra, functions, graphing, trigonometry, geometry, linear algebra, and an introduction to Calculus.
CMNS 133
Technical Communication I
  Technical Writing and Communications I develops writing techniques, editing, and speaking skills.  Students think about their audience and their reason for communicating, and adapt their style to reach that audience and achieve that purpose.
MECH 131
Drafting I
  Drafting I introduces students to mechanical drafting and graphic communication using AutoCAD.
MECH 133
Materials
  Materials Technology examines the properties and characteristics of engineering materials.  Students conduct material testing labs to determine the mechanical properties of steels and aluminum.
MECH 134
Statics
  Static forces on mechanical structures and machines are studied in this course using engineering problem solving techniques.
MECH 136
Engineering Principles
  This course studies mechanical engineering principles and the application of:  force and motion, energy, simple harmonic motion, thermal energy, waves, sound, light and optics.
MECH 139
Mechanical Fabrication
  Mechanical Fabrication is a shop based course in which students gain hands-on experience with machine shop processes, fabrication equipment,  and the selection and use of tools.

  • Fall 2012 applications open on Nov 6, 2011 to enter 1st year of our program in Sept 2012.
  • Career Fair 2011 - Sun Nov 6, 2011 from 10:30 - 4 pm at Kelowna campus.  Come out, visit with instructors and students in our labs.  Remember - if you apply at Career Fair, the application fee is waived for this day only.
  • Experience OC - coming in Feb 2012, Kelowna campus.  Build a machine and compete.  "If it moves, it's Mech"



Winter Semester 2012

  • Classes start Tues Jan 3 and end Thurs Apr 5, 2012
  • Final exams run from Wed Apr 11 to Sat Apr 21, 2012
  • End-of-semester courses are held over 2 week period from Mon Apr 23 to Fri May 4, 2012
