Basic Accounting Certificate

Your reasons for taking Okanagan College's Basic Accounting certificate program could vary.

You might want to pursue an entry level job in the accounting field or maintain the books for a small business. Alternatively, it may represent useful preparation for subsequent courses in computer-based accounting systems.

The Level I course covers general accounting principles, concepts, and tools. The preparation of financial statements and year-end closings are among the featured topics.

Level II introduces specialized journals and sub-ledgers to track customers and vendors. Topics ranging from GST and petty cash to bank reconciliation and payroll preparation are also included.

Graduates of this program may be considered for transfer credit into BuAd 111.
