Business Administraion Testimonials

“I have recently completed my Business Administration Diploma at the
Okanagan School of Business, and if I had to describe my experience during those two years at Okanagan College in one word, it would definitely be invaluable. The professors at Okanagan College are passionate, knowledgeable, personable, and very connected within the community. The knowledge, experience and opportunities offered by Okanagan College have been a significant stepping stone towards my career aspiration of becoming an Events Coordinator.”

Attending OUC and the Business Program has dramatically changed my life. I have found myself thinking about everything in my life more strategically. The program has taught me the importance and value of visioning, planning and executing clear ideas and measurable goals. With this education I am confident I will be as successful as I always dreamt I could be."

"Taking part in the exchange program with the Hogeschool Zeeland in the Netherlands was an incredible experience! It taught me so many things--about the world and myself. Being able to study and live with students from around the world gave me a global perspective on business, the world economy, and different cultures that I'm sure will be a great asset in my future career. I would highly recommend the exchange program as a way to enrich your educational experience."

"Returning to OUC to complete my Business Administration degree was the best thing I ever did! The feeling of personal achievement I gained, as well as the increase in professional opportunities, have definitely made it all worthwhile. The real life application of the Project Seminar course gave me the opportunity to help a local business, and I continue to use the skills I gained at OUC every day in my work."

"My four years spent studying Business Administration at OUC has proved to be both valuable and unforgettable. The quality of education stretches beyond course content to the unique features OUC offers such as small classrooms, accessible and willing instructors, and community based projects. Everyday on the job, I use the knowledge I gained from my time as a student, and the relationships I made will last a lifetime."

Office Administration Testimonials

ABT GraduatesI thoroughly enjoyed the course and got a lot out of it. The teaching was great. I don't think there are any better teachers than the two of you. You were patient and helpful. I remember going to do the qualification English and math tests and the computer test - Madelaine had to basically turn the machine on for me and get me into the typing test - I had no clue how to even use the computer, I wondered if I was making a mistake by trying to do this, but I was determined that with hard work I would make it. Yes it was a lot of work but it was sooo worth it. I am proud to say that I can operate a computer and the programs on it.

I'd like to address this letter to all of you thinking of enrolling in the Office Administration course offered by Okanagan College. DO IT! I highly recommend this certificate program.

In the 10 short months of the course you are taught a wide variety of extremely useful software programs, accounting programs, and general office skills that are required to be effectively and gainfully employed in our ever-changing work force. This program is recognized, and sometimes a requirement, by the employer. Since graduating from the course I've been successfully employed in the field of my choice, and I love it. There is nothing more rewarding than having the ability to perform the job with the skills you've acquired, and being appreciated by the employer because they look good having capable staff.

Cheryl S., ABT Graduate

Taking the Office Administration program at Okanagan College was one of the best decisions I've ever made. I graduated from the program with fairly good grades and landed a job as an Administrative Assistant right away. The skills I learned in the course have made finding jobs easy. They allow you to be very versatile, a quality that many employers are looking for. The days of specialty fields are virtually gone and more and more companies are looking for employees who have skills in many areas.

I am currently working at a Physiotherapy Clinic in Salmon Arm. My duties include Accounts Receivable, Payable, filing, making appointments, and dealing with insurance companies, etc,. Without the experience and knowledge I received from Okanagan College Office Administration program, I would still be working in retail.

I realized that I made the right choice, when I did my practicum. I love my job and enjoy working with my coworkers at the clinic.

The teachers I had were a great help and supported me through the tough times and I appreciated and respect them, especially Edie.

Brenda C., ABT Graduate

I can't believe how much I have benefited from taking the Office Administration course. Because of the hard work and effort not only did I land a great job, but the things I learned are countless as were the friendships.

Marilyn, ABT Graduate

I wanted to let you know the training in Office Administration is right up to date. I went through some pretty vigorous testing at the agencies ... and they were very impressed with my computer skills. ...my scores for computer knowledge were extremely good.

I did PowerPoint test that I only scored a 72 on, and I was very disappointed until I was told the highest mark that anyone had scored on that test was 56! I could be working at several different jobs right now - one agency has called me for 3 placements because of my computer skills.

Mary L., ABT Graduate

"As a regular participating employer in the Office Administration Program, it is always a positive experience to host a student for the required practical component of the program. The students have an opportunity for real hands on application of what they have learned. Through the workplace environment they gain a true sense of current employer expectations. The employers have an opportunity to share in the educational process and the extra support from the student is a bonus! I highly recommend the experience to any employer."
