The Okanagan School of Business offers a four-year Bachelor of Business Administration degree. This four-year program focuses on business in the Canadian and international context. Our Degree graduates benefit from this highly practical program that provides students with hand-on business skills. Admission requirements
Bachelor of Business Administration Honours program
The Bachelor of Business Administration with Honours is designed to provide students with the opportunity to undertake applied business research. Students who complete this program will learn to work independently with a high standard of competency in the business environment. The Honours program requires the students to acquire sophisticated analytical and communication skills.
To qualify for the honours degree students must complete BUAD 492 with a minimum grade of 76% and graduate from the BBA program with a minimum graduating grade average of 76%.

Admission Requirements for Bachelor of Business Administration Degree
Students can enter directly into the four year Bachelor of Business administration degree when the following requirements have been met. The Okanagan School of Business values all students, please contact the business advisor, Fran Kelly at 250-762-5445 ext 4725 if you have any questions regarding becoming enrolled in the Business programs at Okanagan College. Entry into first year of the Bachelor of Business Administration Degree (BBA) program
- BC Secondary school graduation or equivalent.
- A minimum grade of 70% in English 12, or TPC 12 (Technical and Professional Communications), or an equivalent Provincial Level ABE English course. Applicants with a passing grade of less than 70% will be required to write the LPI (Language Proficiency Index) test and obtain a minimum score of level 5. Note Communications 12 is not acceptable.
- Applications of Mathematics 12 with 85% or higher or Principles of Mathematics 12 with 60% or higher
Senior Secondary students who enter the Business Administration degree program with a minimum grade of 73% in Accounting 12 may receive credit for BuAd 111 (Financial Accounting I).
Selective Admission Process : Applicants will be granted admission based on their grade average for English, Mathematics and two other academic courses chosen to the advantage of the applicant.
Qualifying Year
Graduated but lacking Math 12?
Students who lack Principles of Mathematics 12 or Applications of Mathematics 12 minimum grade average can enroll in the Business Administration Diploma program with Principles of Mathematics 11, or Introductory Mathematics 11 with a 70% or higher, or Applications of Mathematics 11 with 60% or higher. Upon successful completion of the Diploma with a 67% GPA, you can then be admitted to Year 3 of the degree. Graduated but lacking either English or Math minimum grade?
Students who lack one entrance requirement, (Math or English), can enroll in the business qualifying year. For example, if the Math requirement is not met, the student can take 3 first year business courses that do not have Math as a pre-requisite while upgrading their Math. If the English requirement is not met, the student can take 3 first year business courses that do not have English as a pre-requisite while upgrading their English. Please call for more specific information.
Pre-Business Year
Graduated but lacking BOTH English and Math minimum grade?
Students who lack both entrance requirements, Math and English, can enroll in a pre-business semester. During this semester, students register in one first year business course that does not require Math or English as a pre-requisite while upgrading their Math and English. Students have the benefit of being exposed to college life while they upgrade their missing requirements.
Mature Applicants
Mature applicants are at least 19 years of age and have been out of full-time high school study for at least one year. High school graduation may be waived for mature applicants if they meet the minimum program requirements. Mature applicants without English 12 can write the LPI (Language Proficiency Index) and must receive a minimum score of Level 5. Mature applicants without the minimum Mathematics requirements may take the Mathematics Diagnostic Test administered by the Learning Center and achieve a minimum score of 20/25.
Entry into the third year of the degree program
- Successful completion of a recognized Business Administration diploma program or equivalent with a minimum grade average of 67% or;
- Completion of 60 university-level credits (with a minimum of 24 credits at the 200-level or higher) with a minimum grade average of 67% or;
- Completion of an Associate Degree in Arts or Science with a minimum grade average of 67%.
Applicants must submit a statement (500 words maximum) outlining their personal objectives and career goals. Applicants must submit a statement (500 word maximum) outlining their work experience and community involvement.
Selective Admission into third year of the degree process:
applicants will be ranked and admitted according to the grade average of their respective diploma, associate degree or 60 credits of university courses, as stated above.
