Other Training Opportunities

Orthodontic Module

This course is offered to CDAs or Dental Hygienists as a professional development opportunity to those who wish to obtain the Orthodontic Module through The British Columbia College of Oral Health Professionals (BCCOHP). Students will complete the theory component through an online platform with tutor support. This is followed by a theory examination and a weekend clinical held at the Okanagan College Kelowna campus. Successful students will then be eligible to apply for the Orthodontic Assistant designation with the BCCOHP.

Provisional Prosthodontic Module

This course is offered to CDAs or Dental Hygienists as a professional development opportunity to those who wish to obtain the Prosthodontic Module through The British Columbia College of Oral Health Professionals (BCCOHP). Students will complete the theory component through an online platform with tutor support. This is followed by a theory examination, a weekend clinical held at the Okanagan College Kelowna campus, as well as a competency checklist to be completed in your clinic by your sponsoring dentist. Successful students will then be eligible to apply for the Provisional Prosthodontic designation with the BCCOHP.

Prenatal Classes

Our Prenatal Classes allow the mother-to-be and her support person to gain essential knowledge of a healthy pregnancy, learn the important practical skills for a positive childbirth experience, and receive valuable information on early care of the newborn.

First Aid and Safety Training

Okanagan College is an approved Canadian Red Cross and WorkSafeBC Training Centre. Working with the latest equipment, our First Aid instructors are fully qualified to deliver a complete range of training.

Occupational Health and Safety Certificate

Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) Professionals are at the forefront of protecting workers in many different sectors.
