Licensed Practical NurseThis 12-month program prepares graduates to provide care, in partnerships with other health professionals, to selected clients in a variety of settings. This is a collaborative, values-based program which focuses on partnerships between teacher, student and client.

Career Opportunities: Graduates of the program may obtain employment in the community, continuing care, residential care or acute care settings.

Program Description

The Practical Nursing program includes three semesters where courses progress from the 100 level to the 400 level. Knowledge and skills learned in one semester will be applied in successive semesters as a basis for more self directed and integrated nursing care. For this reason successful completion of each course and level is required before moving onto the next level. Clinical placement may include day and evening hours and/or a variety of shift lengths. On occasion, weekend work may be involved.
