Community Library Services

Individuals who are over the age of sixteen and reside within Okanagan College's (OC) service area may purchase a community borrower card at an annual cost of $20.00. OC's service area is defined by school districts. They are school districts 19, 22, 23, 53, 58, 67, and 83. Some of the communities represented within these school districts include Kelowna, Vernon, Salmon Arm, Penticton, Princeton, Summerland, Keremeos, Enderby, Revelstoke, Armstrong, Olivery, Osoyoos and Sicamous.

Okanagan College and Okanagan University College alumni are deemed to be community users unless another borrower category applies.

For Free: Members of the community are welcome to use the OC Library and its books, periodicals, and audiovisual collection in the library, during the hours that the library is open.

Limitations: Community borrowers may have up to five items on loan at any one time. Each item on loan may be renewed up to six times unless the material is recalled.

Categories of material in heavy use by students and faculty of OC are not available for loan to community borrowers. These include audiovisual materials, and books and periodicals on reserve. Please refer to the students Borrowing & Fines page for more information on the materials that are restricted to library use only.

Community borrowers will be referred to their local public library if they require items through interlibrary loan.
