Campus Health Tobacco Education Assistant Position (Recruitment Begins Sept.  2009)
This is an employed student position funded through a partnership with BC Lung Association and Okanagan College.  Student's may work up to 20 hours per month. 
                                                                    
Primary Responsiblities:
  • Assist Campus Health and Wellness in planning and implementing tobacco events, setting up displays and conducting activities on campus
  • Be familiar with campus resources and services
  • Refer students to the appropriate resource when your skills and/or knowledge do not meet the needs of inquiry
  • Conduct yourself in an ethical and professional manner
  • Support the efforts of student volunteers
  • Elicit and submit ongoing feedback for the development of student life

Qualifications:

  • Current OC student
  • Good computer skills with knowledge in developing posters and presentation materials
  • Website management helpful
  • Proficient in English reading and writing skills
  • Interest in health/social issues and recreation management/activities
  • Be self-motivated, enthusiastic and have a positive attitude
  • Good interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
