Campus Health Tobacco Education Assistant Position (Recruitment Begins Sept. 2009) This is an employed student position funded through a partnership with BC Lung Association and Okanagan College. Student's may work up to 20 hours per month. Primary Responsiblities:
- Assist Campus Health and Wellness in planning and implementing tobacco events, setting up displays and conducting activities on campus
- Be familiar with campus resources and services
- Refer students to the appropriate resource when your skills and/or knowledge do not meet the needs of inquiry
- Conduct yourself in an ethical and professional manner
- Support the efforts of student volunteers
- Elicit and submit ongoing feedback for the development of student life
Qualifications:
- Current OC student
- Good computer skills with knowledge in developing posters and presentation materials
- Website management helpful
- Proficient in English reading and writing skills
- Interest in health/social issues and recreation management/activities
- Be self-motivated, enthusiastic and have a positive attitude
- Good interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
