Okanagan College Media Release
A collection of more than 30 Canadian and international documentary films will be showcased at Okanagan College’s Kelowna campus between March 13 – 15 as part of the Travelling World Community Film Festival. Preview screenings of select films are also scheduled on Thursday March 12 at the Ki-Low-Na Friendship Society and at UBCO.
The four-day event is B.C.’s largest documentary film festival, and gathers films that broach a wide variety of topics, including: war, human rights, education, economics and the environment, to name a few.
“This is an amazing opportunity for the community to come together and view a collection of inspiring and challenging independent films,” said Dr. Marlo Edwards, one of the event organizers and Communications professor at Okanagan College. “These are issues that we’re all concerned about, and voices that we might not have access to otherwise.”
Admission to the film screenings is free, but donations to the Kelowna Women’s Resource Centre will be gratefully accepted. To view the full schedule of films to be screened visit:
