Terbasket appointed to Okanagan College Board of Governors

Okanagan College has a new member of the Board of Governors.
Pauline E. Terbasket, Executive Director of the Okanagan Nation Alliance and member of the Okanagan Nation and Lower Similkameen Indian Band (LSIB), was appointed to serve on the Okanagan College Board of Governors on May 30, 2007 by the province of British Columbia.
Terbasket brings more than 25 years of experience working for a variety of First Nations organizations and government. A strong advocate for social change, Terbasket has committed herself to tackling issues confronting the growth and wellness primarily of Indigenous citizens.
"Pauline’s experience, insights and abilities will be a welcome complement to the skills array our Board draws on as it guides the College," says Board Chair Janet Shaw.
In addition to her professional endeavors, Terbasket volunteers with a number of local and regional organizations and societies including the BC Native Women's Society, UBC Okanagan and the Ki-low-Na Friendship Society, which she was President of for four years.
"I am pleased to join the Okanagan College Board of Governors and am honoured to be in a position to contribute to the positive impact the College has on the communities and people it serves," says Terbasket.
Terbasket will attend her first Board meeting on June 26, 2007.
