HR implements new web-based recruitment tool – POST
Human
Resources launched the new Position Description and Applicant Tracking
modules of the Posting On-line System and Tracking (POST) web-based
recruitment tool (developed by PeopleAdmin) during the week of July 1,
2008. The on-line modules introduce automated position description and
recruitment processes for end-users involved in the recruitment
process.
For a short time period, both the old and new
recruitment systems will be maintained until open postings in the old
system are closed following completion of all related recruitment
activities. For a full description of the POST system and information
about the implementation process, please follow this link.
When
accessing the employment opportunities site, a message will be
displayed advising applicants that “Okanagan College is currently in the
process of transitioning to a new state of the art Recruitment System.
All jobs posted after July 9, 2008 will be posted in our new system and
can be viewed and applied for at
www.employmentopportunities.okanagan.bc.ca. During this transition
period, please check for employment opportunities on our original page
and on our new system and take special note of the application
requirements for each.
As a result of this implementation,
the position description and recruitment processes are changing. For
example, when you are recruiting for an open position you will begin
with the development or revision of a position description. Once
developed or revised, the position description will be submitted to
Human Resources electronically through the new system by the hiring
Manager to be evaluated and finalized. Once the position description
has been finalized, the hiring Manager will be notified electronically
that he/she can begin the posting and recruitment process.
The
link to POST is available in My Okanagan under the Employee tab in the
OC Express – Administrative Functions section as a drop-down selection
under the Administration option. Once you have completed training, your
account will be activated. Your initial log-in to POST will require
your nine-digit Banner ID# for both username and password fields. You
will then be prompted to re-set your password.
For ease of
reference following your training, on-line documentation (user guide)
is available to assist you with navigating through POST functions and
activities.
For individuals interested in applying to open
competitions at Okanagan College, a link to the new Applicant module of
POST is located in the Employment Opportunities section of the Okanagan
College website. On-line documentation specifically tailored for the
Applicant module is available to assist individuals with using the new
system to apply to Okanagan College postings.
Human Resources
recently provided two-hour training sessions specifically designed for
those involved in the recruitment process. Of the 150+ Okanagan
College end-users identified, approximately 96 attended scheduled
training sessions offered at various campuses between July 9 and July
16 to learn to use the new modules and to ensure their user account in
POST has been activated.
Additional training sessions have been
scheduled for Tuesdays and Thursdays between July 15 and December 4,
2008 at the Kelowna Campus. If you are involved in the recruitment
process and have not already attended training, you will receive an
invitation from Human Resources via e-mail asking you to register for
one of the upcoming sessions. Your access to POST cannot be activated
until training has been completed.
If you are involved in the
recruitment process and were not contacted by Human Resources for one
of the scheduled training sessions, please contact
Lynda Lays extension 4390.
