Post-production software:
Download http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ (don't use Beta version yet)
Be sure to download and install the LAME mp3 encoder as well.

Audacity will open the files you record on the R-09. You can edit and export them. Consider changing the default mp3 preferences in Audacity to make smaller files. Using mono instead of stereo makes the download twice as fast. Using 22KHz instead of 44KHZ makes it twice as fast again. Stick with 16-bit - 8 bit is very noisy. Spoken word seems to do just fine at an mp3 bit rate of 64 or even 48.
