Parking Services

Facilities Management oversees parking services at Okanagan College.

PERMITS

Staff parking permits and Contractor permits can be obtained online at this link: Parking Permit Application.

Temporary parking passes and Guest passes may be obtained in-person at the Facilities Management office at Kelowna Campus or at the administration offices at either Kalamalka or Penticton Campuses.

Student Parking passes may be obtained at the Registration Office in the Student Services Building at the Kelowna campus or at the Administration offices in Vernon and Penticton.

Parking Areas

STUDENT:

Students shall park their vehicles ONLY in the designated “Student Parking Lots” with a valid OC parking pass. Students may choose to purchase the following:

Day Pass, from a ticket dispenser in the parking lot
Monthly Pass
Semester Pass
2 Semester Pass
Annual Pass

Parking passes other than day passes are valid at all OC Campuses. Student pay parking is in effect from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays.

NOTE:

Buying a student parking pass does not guarantee a parking stall. Parking is “first come first served”.

Students are encouraged not to park in Visitor parking, expired meters will result in a ticket.

STAFF:

Parking for regular full-time staff is by staff permit only, which is to be affixed to the vehicle as directed. Staff can park only in the designated staff parking lots. A staff permit is not valid for parking in a student, visitor or pay lot. Full-time staff whose appointment is for less than four months, and part-time staff will be issued temporary staff permits valid for the term of appointment. Temporary staff permits are to be displayed on the driver’s side of the dashboard of the vehicle to which they apply.

VISITORS:

Visitors to OC campuses must park in either the “metered parking lots” near the main entrance off KLO Rd., or in the student parking pass areas with a day pass, acquired from the ticket dispensers in either Lot 11 or 17 in Kelowna, Lot P1 in Penticton and either Lot V3 or V4 in Vernon.

Special Parking Spaces

Handicapped: A proper handicap-parking pass issued either by the Provincial Government or Okanagan College is required in addition to a regular parking pass.

Service Vehicle: A service vehicle/contractor parking pass is required.

Loading Zone: Free 15 minute maximum parking only to permit the unloading/loading of vehicles.

Motorcycles: All motorcycles and scooters are required to register at the Facilities Management Office and are governed by normal parking regulations.

Bicycles: Parking for bicycles is free and racks are located outside most buildings. Bicycle lockers are available to rent at all 4 campuses. Bicycle theft is not uncommon; make sure your bicycle is properly secured through the frame to the bicycle rack with a cable or chain. They may not be left in unapproved areas or taken into buildings.

Note: Bicycles secured in areas other than bicycle racks are subject to removal without warning at the owner’s risk and expense.
