Library Information for Community Users
Location & Hours
OC libraries are located on the Kelowna, Penticton, Salmon Arm and Vernon campuses. Community members are welcome to use any campus library. Library hours vary by campus and by time of year.
OC Library issues community member cards to those who are eligible.Information on borrower types and eligibility is available from the 'Use the Library' web page.
You have access to the Library’s complete print collection and may borrow books, circulating reports, most DVDs, CDs and cassettes. You have access to select electronic resources on site at the Library. Learn about your Library status, privileges and responsibilities.
Loan Periods, Fines & Fees
Loan periods vary by type of material. Unless otherwise marked, all items are due by closing time of the due date. Material returned after the due date is subject to overdue fines. If you lose or damage Library materials, you are responsible for replacement and processing costs. You have the right to discuss your fines with a librarian. You may also file a formal appeal.
Requests, Renewals, Returns & Holds
Circulating materials may be requested from any OC campus library. Use the Library's online catalogue to place requests for material from other campus libraries. Community members are unable to recall or place holds on items that are currently checked out.
Materials may be returned to any OC Library.
Guest Use of Library Computers
For Library users who are not Okanagan College students or employees, the Library may provide guest access to computers, provided that access does not interfere with students’ ability to use the computers.
